Ministry Teams: Men

Men’s Conference at TPC - January 15-16

Who’s Speaking?
Dr. David Jones - from the Love in Action International counseling ministry in Memphis, TN.

What’s it about?
Topic:   Men and Relationships

Who’s it for?
Married, Single, Older, Younger and Middle-Aged Men of Trinity Church & their friends

The Details:
This conference will examine some of the struggles men face with intimacy in all relationships:  God, spouse, children, parents, friends, etc…

Our speaker will offer specific, tangible ways that we can move away from the loneliness and frustration that so often characterizes our relationships.  Focusing upon the grace of God and the promises that are ours in Christ, Dr. Jones will dialog with us about how we can approach relationships differently and with more humility and confidence.  The conference will have both large group talks and small group discussions to facilitate authentic engagement with one another and with the material presented.  We also hope to extend many of these small groups into longer-term opportunities for men to fellowship regularly with one another.

As part of the follow-up to the January 15-16 conference, we will be forming a number of men's small groups for the purposes of fostering deeper fellowship, accountability and discipleship between and among the men of Trinity Church.  These groups will meet weekly (at a time/place most convenient to the 4-6 members of each group) from January through May of 2010.  If you have any interest in becoming a small group leader, helping with the conference planning, or simply wish to participate in one of these small groups, please contact one of the men's ministry team leaders:  Carter Smith (cartersmith@me.com), John McCormick (macva99@yahoo.com) or John Fox (2bulldogs@cox.net).
